SEP sesam Certified Administrator Training (SCA)

Course Outline and Goals

The SCA training is designed for technical personal with in depth knowledge of their operating systems and environments. It will further the student's knowledge regarding installation, management and support for the customer designed backup strategy.

Subject Matter and Topics

- Overview of new features in the newest version of SEP sesam
- Administration of SEP sesam components with and without GUI
- Recognition and configuration of connected storage hardware
- SEP sesam sm_client name resolution
- Interfaces and configuration possibilities using PRE to Notify commands
- Implementation of the SEP sesam Log file and directory structure
- Interpretation, evaluation and analysis of log files
- Difference between external and internal data base backup communication
- Brief introduction into SEP sesam Bare System Recovery (Recovery to Dissimilar Hardware)
- Update procedures and software licensing
- Support structures and escalation requirements
- Test to ascertain Basis und SCA Knowledge
- Award of SCA Certificates

Course Requirements - Technical equipment:
A running Windows/Linux laptop with VM-Ware player
Virtual system requirements for 2 parallel running machines
1 GB RAM
10 GB virtual disk space
