Tasks by Groups

For the menu location ->GUI->Tasks->Groups it is possible to enter multiple Tasks in one or more Groups. You can also see all of the Tasks that have been assigned to a particular Group with this view.A single event will activate all the collected Tasks within the Task Group. The Tasks will then be executed depending on the number of sms channels available. The remaining Tasks will be retained in the execution Queue and will be started chronologically.



With a right mouse click on the Task Group you will open a Menu with the following options:

Task Group Name (Use relevant and easily recognizable Names, e.g. File Backup, Database Backup,...

With the arrow > selector you can add a single and with the double-arrow >> selector you can add all available Tasks to the chosen Task Group. You can remove Tasks using the arrow selectors < und <<.The Task Execution sequence can be altered by selecting a task an moving it up or down with the respective arrows ↓ and ↑. The uppermost Task will performed first. If you are using a 'Standard' server license the first five (5) tasks will be be performed when the backup starts and the rest will be queued for execution as the first tasks finish.

Note

If you want to delete a Task Group you must first remove all Tasks from the Group.

New Task Group

When creating a new Task Group use the same Dialog Box as with Properties. In this case the fields Group Name, Comments and assigned Tasks are empty.

Delete Task Group

To delete a Backup Group you need to select it in the Backup Tree, open the Property window and select "Delete". Finally, click 'Yes' to complete the selection.

You can only delete "Empty" groups. If there are still Tasks associated with the Group, you will see the following window and the remaining Tasks. These will need to be removed, reassigned or deleted before you can fully delete the Task Group.
